Laboratory activities pharmacology and tissue therapy is directly related to
the practical implementation of the method of tissue therapy - Academician Filatov `s priority doctrine of biogenic stimulants..
1. Research activities: Engaged in the development and improvement of laboratory process procedures, methods of identification and standardization of biological medicines from natural materials.
2. Assessment of the specific pharmacological activity (biotest). Developed, approved by the FES and practically implemented biotests of objective evaluation of the biological activity of drugs: effects on growth and reproduction of cells, accelerate the regeneration process, the phagocytic activity of neutrophils, the end result of oxygen starvation ( "mixed" type, and cytotoxic hypoxia), parabiosis state, toxic effect ( "strychnine" and "strofantinom" tests), anticonvulsant and protective effect.
3. Determination of safety: To study the "acute" and "chronic" toxicity, cytotoxicity, local irritating action, immunotoxicity, allergenicity, embryotoxic, teratogenic, carcinogenic properties.
4. The study of therapeutic and preventive efficiency for modeling of diseases in animals: ophthalmopathology (traumatic and bacterial keratitis, eye burns, contusions of the eyeball, and others.), chronic hepatitis, gastric ulcer, toxic anemia.
Today the leading direction of scientific research laboratory is to provide ophthalmic dosage forms (FDF) based on natural substrates (concentrated aloe extract, complex peat humic acids, distilled firth mud, seawater trace elements concentrate), preclinical evaluation of their pharmaco- biological properties, mechanism of action, therapeutic efficacy and safety.
Combined 20% eye drops of sulfatsil guminata having pronounced antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory and regenerative properties, was worked out. New eye drops and ointment (biopeloidov drops and ointment), as well as combinations of them with B vitamins: pelonat-P (with riboflavin) and pelonat-P (pyridoxine) were worked and patented too.
Together with the departments N II ,III and V of the Institute developed and patented combination ophthalmic ointment on the basis of a concentrate and dry extract of aloe, marepolimiel, peloidodistillata. Clinical observation has shown that they have strong antiedematous, anti-inflammatory, reparative properties and effective in the treatment of inflammatory diseases of the cornea, degenerative diseases of the retina and optic nerve, the syndrome of "dry eye" and other ocular pathology.
There was organized scientific community with the Institute of Pharmacology and Toxicology of NAMS of Ukraine, E.A. Paton Welding Institute , A.V. Bogatsky National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Odessa National Medical University of Ministry of Health of Ukraine, Odessa I.I. Mechnikov National University.
